Snorkelling

Not a snorkel site - Not typically offered/viable: this is a boat dive on the open south coast with no lagoon shelter at Grand-Bois; Saint-Pierre's own lagoon (Ravine Blanche/Terre Sainte) is the area's snorkel spot but is a separate location

Safety notes

South coast, generally outside the main west-coast shark-restriction zone (that ban runs roughly Saint-Paul to L'Etang-Sale); no diver shark attacks have been recorded in Reunion per local dive-guide sources; standard offshore hazards (surge, depth to 40 m) apply

Permits & fees

Outside the Reserve Naturelle Marine de La Reunion - the reserve protects lagoons from Saint-Paul to L'Etang-Sale but explicitly excludes Saint-Pierre's lagoon/area; no marine-park permit found for this site
