Certification & difficulty

Open Water

Snorkelling

Not a snorkel site - Limited - site is a subsurface patch reef reached by boat, better suited to diving than snorkeling; shallower TARP island reefs (Sapi, Manukan) are the snorkel-friendly alternative

Safety notes

Occasional current on the outer patch away from the sheltered island reefs; boat traffic in the park; site sits outside the official TARP boundary so less patrolled

Permits & fees

Sabah Parks TARP conservation/entry fee applies (RM8/day Malaysian adult, RM25/day international adult as of 2023 gazette); separate scuba diving fee at Sabah Parks sites (~RM100 Malaysian / RM200 international per person, rates vary by site/season) - confirm current rate with operator

Permits and operators change - confirm before booking.
