Boat/kayak/paddleboard traffic in designated swim/dive lanes, crowding around leopard sharks (chasing/touching/blocking sharks is discouraged and can constitute harassment), occasional rip currents, cold water, no-take ecological reserve rules protecting garibaldi, lobster, and other species

Permits & fees

No permit or fee - free public shore access. A CA sport fishing license does not authorize take within the no-take reserve zones; leopard sharks and garibaldi may not be harassed, chased, or taken
