Sightings are seasonal probabilities, not promises - even in peak season nature does its own thing.

Certification & difficulty

Advanced Open Water - advanced conditions (currents/depth); dive within your training.

Snorkelling

Not a snorkel site - Not offered - this is a liveaboard scuba-only offshore wall site with no protected shallow area suited to snorkeling

Safety notes

Strong/unpredictable currents including downcurrents, significant depth, remote offshore location far from medical/chamber facilities, exposed open-water mooring that limits access in bad weather

Permits & fees

Marine park entrance fee of about $5 per person per day, generally charged as a trip lump sum (e.g. around $35 for a 7-day liveaboard trip); part of the Egyptian Red Sea Marine Park protected area (protected status since 1998, managed with HEPCA involvement); liveaboard-access only, no day-boat or shore diving; the site is periodically closed to divers by the authorities due to weather or its location within a restricted offshore/naval zone

Permits and operators change - confirm before booking.
