Safety notes
History of fatal flooding in 1944 (entire Japanese crew reportedly suffocated during an emergency dive); documented diver deaths in 1974 during penetration attempts; hatches were sealed by Japanese salvage teams in 1973; depth-charge damage to bow/conning tower and stern; deep depth (37-46m) with limited no-decompression time; confined, silt-prone interior spaces; a literal war grave/tomb for its crew - treat with utmost respect and do not penetrate without specific technical training and guide familiarity
