Certification & difficulty

Advanced Open Water - advanced conditions (currents/depth); dive within your training.

Snorkelling

Not a snorkel site - No - depth (18m+), distance offshore, and current strength make this unsuitable and unsafe for snorkelers

Safety notes

Strong/unpredictable currents including possible down-currents around the pinnacles, depth requiring good gas management (Nitrox commonly used), thermoclines at depth, complex overhang/recess terrain increasing entanglement/silt-out and navigation risk, drift-style surfacing away from the boat's original position

Permits & fees

Gili Eco Trust diving/eco levy ~IDR 50,000 (~US$5) per diver, funding marine patrols and mooring buoys across Gili dive sites

Permits and operators change - confirm before booking.
