Snorkelling

Not a snorkel site - Limited - as a reef-and-wall dive to 30m this is primarily a scuba site; Watamu's shallower inshore reef flats (e.g. The Larder in Turtle Bay) are the areas actually marketed for snorkeling

Safety notes

Seasonal currents/drift conditions at the drop-off, depth to 30m requires attention to no-decompression limits, boat traffic within marine park channels

Watamu Marine National Park (KWS) entry fee required for all water activities: non-resident adult $25/day, non-resident child 5-17 $15/day; East African citizen adult KES 500/day, child KES 250/day; Kenya resident (with permit) adult KES 675/day, child KES 350/day; under-5s free; paid via kwspay.ecitizen.go.ke
