Safety notes
Large Royal Fleet Auxiliary oil tanker (RFA Ennerdale) sank in June 1970 after striking an uncharted granite obstruction while departing Mahe to resupply the Beira Patrol blockade, going down within 30 minutes with a full load of oil; wreck now broken up in places, stern section (bronze propeller, pilot house) largely intact and described as offering easy penetration for qualified divers - standard overhead-environment risks (entanglement, silt-out, disorientation) apply; depth at/near recreational limits; long weather-dependent boat trip adds exposure risk
