Hollandia

Best time to dive

May to September

Certification & difficulty

Advanced Open Water - advanced conditions (currents/depth); dive within your training.

Snorkelling

Not a snorkel site - Not viable - exposed reef with surge and swell, not promoted as a snorkel site

Safety notes

Strong Atlantic swell and very exposed location off the Western Rocks; strong tidal currents; the reef itself (Gunner Rock) is a navigation hazard, so trips only run in favourable weather windows

Permits & fees

Not on Historic England's current list of designated Protection of Wrecks Act 1973 sites, so no licence is required to dive it recreationally; any wreck material recovered must legally be reported to the Receiver of Wreck. Note: not to be confused with the unrelated 'Klein Hollandia' protected wreck off Eastbourne, Sussex
