No-take zone - no touching/collecting coral or marine life, no fishing; boat traffic near moorings; occasional current in deeper channels; sponge-spawning periods can reduce visibility; elkhorn/staghorn coral are protected/endangered species - accidental contact prohibited

Permits & fees

No general entrance fee or permit required for recreational diving/snorkeling (FKNMS permits are for research/special-use/construction activities, not tourism); mooring buoys are free, first-come-first-served - anchoring on the reef is prohibited; special regulations under 15 CFR 922 Subpart P apply (no-take, no touching)
