Snorkelling

Not a snorkel site - Limited - some operators offer a surface snorkel/ride-along option on the same charter, but the arch swim-throughs themselves are a scuba activity

Safety notes

Long open-ocean channel crossing (seasickness risk), remoteness (limited/slow emergency response), potential surge inside caverns/arches, protected Hawaiian monk seals present (federal/state protected - no touching or chasing)

Permits & fees

No specific dive permit required for the arches (open water, not on Niihau land); Niihau itself is entirely private property owned by the Robinson family and closed to general public landing/tourism - divers only access the surrounding waters via authorized boat charter, never the island
