Typical duration: Multi-day dive packages are standard, with several boat dives per day; most sites lie within about 15 minutes of the resort. Weeklong stays are common.

When to go

Optimal diving is roughly May to November with calmest seas and best visibility. Conditions remain diveable much of the year.

Visibility and access are most reliable through the mid-year to late-year window; wetter months can reduce clarity. Species presence is broadly year-round (Confirm.).

Best time of day: Morning and midday boat dives in calm conditions are standard; dusk dives possible. No single mandated window.

Getting there & staying

Access logistics: Fly Port Moresby to Hoskins Airport (HKN), then about a one-hour shuttle transfer arranged by Walindi (roughly 35 min to Kimbe town plus around 20 min more). Resort meets guests at the airport.

Accommodation / camping: Walindi Plantation Resort provides bungalow and plantation-house accommodation on the bay shore. Camping is not the model.

Gear / water / connectivity: Bring or rent dive gear; resort supplies tanks, boats and meals. Connectivity is limited and should not be relied upon (Confirm.).

Facilities: Full dive centre, boats, dining and lodging on site; liveaboard links also operate from the bay. Comprehensive resort facilities.

Crowds / solitude: Low diver density with many near-empty sites; it rarely feels crowded. Uncrowded reefs are a selling point.
